Part 105
Having a plethora of thoughts Ram waited for Pihu. The little steps
that he took to move to and fro, counted into few hundred metres together. At
last his wait came to an end. There comes his daughter with her friend Mia.
Wishing Ram, Mia took her leave and joined another bunch of students.
“Papa you; here?” Pihu asked.
“What should I have done Pihu? You agreed with that dumb Advik and
came here in Metro and Tram. I know how much exhausted you must be feeling
right now.” Ram said in one breath, “So the car is here.”
“hogaya papa!!”said Pihu,
Ram looked at his daughter querying. “Did you bring the driver or drove yourself?”
she asked.
“Yeah driver is here; I am ... ” Pihu stopped her father and asked
him to send back the car and join her in voyage exploring the excitement she
felt that morning.
Ram asked the driver to leave for the villa and left a note for
Priya with him.
“Promise me you will not complain and Promise me you will do what I
will ask you to do.” Pihu looked smiling at Ram.
“Promise.”
“Come..” clutching her father’s hand she pulled him along. They
waited for the traffic to turn green. Ram was surprised to witness the
innocence that was still preserved in his daughter's heart. He obeyed his
daughter. At the ticket counter he stopped Pihu and bought their tickets. Their
voyage continued. During the rush hours they didn't get seats to sit. Ram
looked around and made a child like face. “Papa!!” Pihu scolded him, “Just look
out. You can see this part of city which your car can never allow you.”
“You speak just like your mother.” Ram suddenly uttered unwanted.
Pihu’s enthusiastic face turned pale. “I am sorry but its true beta.” Said Ram
holding her hand firm.
“I don't know but what I felt I said to you.” Pihu withdrew her
hands and sat on a seat which got vacant just then. “Papa come sit here.” She
called Ram. Without protesting he obeyed her. After two more halts another seat
got vacant, Pihu occupied it. She sat by her father, encircling her hand along
his arms as she rested her head on it. “Papa; am I really like mom?”
“Yes my Love.” Resting his head on hers he replied. “Mostly like me.
Your likings, disliking, anger and arrogance. But you have a heart pure and
innocent like your mother do have and she loves you more than me.”
“This is definitely not true!!” rebuked Pihu looking at her father. “NOT
TRUE!”
“It is Pihu.” Ram tried to make her believe.
“She can never love anyone more than you and you want me to believe
it” Said Pihu with a smirk. “I am not Kush that I will believe what ever my mom
dad will say. I believe in the truth and truth is she loves you the most.”
“Again just like Priya.” The soothing grin on Ram’s face made Pihu
sigh. “And you are angry with her for a reason” With her father saying that
Pihu looked surprised.
“Yes you heard it right!!” smiled Ram after his reply. “She was
wrong but she is a human too. She became mother for the first time with you. If
you had any younger siblings then she would have handled them more maturely.
She had no one to guide, about parenting.” Ram continued, “and if your mother
made mistakes I somehow forced her to do so.”
Narrowing her eyes Pihu expressed her displeasure.
“Yes I did force her by expecting her to become your papa too. But
she is the mother only. Pihu she tried to juggle between all the roles she was
awarded with, for marrying me. The wife, the daughter in law, the sister in
law, the grand daughter in law, the mother and on my demand sometimes my girl
friend. The previous relations by birth were also there.” Ram looked at his
surprised daughter and shoving his hands around her shoulder he said, “I know
you must be feeling right now, why I am telling you all these. You are a big
girl now Pihu. There should not be any kind of darkness between us and you must
also know that your parents were in a mutual disagreement to their wedding but
we fell in the trap of destiny and got married. I know what you must be
thinking now..” Ram looked at his daughter and smiled. “You are our love child
not a child born out of responsibility that husband and wife have towards each other
and now you tell me which mother will love to see her LOVE suffering?” asked
Ram under his deep sigh, “Which mother will love to see her part, her love’s
best part gifted to her in pain?” he waited for her daughter to respond back.
With her head hung Pihu sat quiet.
“We have reached our destination.” Ram said as the metro car slowed
down to halt. Pihu looked up and with her hand entwined with her father she
walked out. Both the daughter and father chose to maintain the silence for the
next part of their journey. Pihu stopped and turned to Ram at the entrance of
the villa, “Papa till now you advocated my mother your wife, what about you?”
The grin slowly translated into a broad smile, “For me your mother
is my heart and you are its beats. You are the most beautiful thing that your
mother gifted me. You are the gift to us from us for us that neither of us can
ever express in words. You are that feeling we felt for 9 months when you were
in the safest place on the earth and promised to hold you safe till our last
breath when we first time held you together.”
Pihu looked down and then to her father, spinning back she felt
tears in her eyes. Looking startled she started walking towards the villa. Ram
could feel that she was running from him; he doesn’t know what is there on the
other side after that. He followed her inside.
Inside, Priya was sitting alone waiting for her daughter and husband
to return. She was little worried because Ram didn't tell her a single word what
he was going to tell her daughter. The note that the driver delivered her with
the message {today our daughter must know
the truth. I will take tram and metro to home with her} made her even more
worried. She was seating with her head resting on the top soft cover of the
couch, stretching her legs along its length. The footsteps from the entrance
made her aware of Pihu’s presence. She stood up and turned to face her. Pihu neglected
her mother once again and headed towards her room. Priya with worry all over
her face looked at Ram who was also there.
“Mom.” Sudden voice of Pihu shivered Priya out of her worried
thoughts. “Be truthful about what you say.” She instructs before asking, “Whom
do you love more? Me or Papa?” looking at Ram she expressed her helplessness.
Even the question from their daughter startled him. He thought about the
conversation that he had with Pihu lately. Looking at Priya he waited for her
answer too.
“If I really need to be truthful. I chose to be truthful to myself.
I love your papa most.” Priya replied.
“Thank you mom. If you have answered “you” in particular trust me I
would have never ever talked to you again. Thank you mom and I really need some
food can I get some Chocolate Éclairs.” Pihu smiled.
“Sure!! I will make some.” Priya smiled. After a long time Ram
noticed that twinkle in her eyes. With Priya hurrying towards the kitchen Ram
looked at his daughter who climbed upstairs to her room.
Calling Advik he proudly announced what ever he discussed with Pihu
and witnessed. After listening carefully Advik asked Ram to check with Pihu, he
felt something wrong might happen. After checking with Pihu, who was then busy
crafting some face on the clay mould on her work space, Ram rubbished his
thoughts. Not convinced Advik wished to drop a visit to have a session with
Pihu. Ram couldn't stop him as he is the best person to guide them. He went
down stairs straight into the kitchen. Priya was alone there. Her happiness
knew no bound, for the first time in last few months Pihu actually wanted
something from her.
“Excited!” Ram asked her standing by.
“Thank You.” Priya hugged him all of a sudden. “I am sorry to be
harsh with you. I shouldn't be so rude to you.”
“Actually I should thank you.” Ram smiled, “Priya I was really not
there as the father, as the husband, as your love and as your strength.” He
held Priya firm between his hands. “But I promise you this time I am not going
to leave you. We will fight this off together.” He said under his persistent
smile.
Without articulating, she expressed her heart to him. The warm
response from her in form of the embrace that she welcomed Ram into was
powerful than any words. Coming out of it, he held her face up by her chin. “I
have a lot to clear from you madam too. I need an explanation for what you did
in last few days.” said Ram teasingly.
“Arey what I have done
now?” asked Priya pouting her lips.
“You have done a lot of unruly things. First leaving me alone in our
bedroom and making me tense on Karvachauth.
Why did you skip your medicines Priya?” Ram demanded an answer.
“Can I expect you to wait till the bed time?” asked Priya
withdrawing her from his grip. She checked the oven for the second time; it has
few more minutes to get baked.
“I can wait for you forever and ever.” Ram said placing a feathery
kiss on her shoulder.
“Ram!” she retorted, “What are you doing?”
Ram didn't let her go this time. “Have you forgiven me?” he asked
holding her from behind securing his hands along her waist line. After so many
years of marriage and love, she still quivers under his touch. In his
possession her brain stopped working. She waited for her husband too, to express
his sensitive side as a father, as a husband. Today she has no complain against
him. She has no excuse to keep away from him. She flushed red feeling his warm
breath on her bare shoulder. How much she missed him, is only known to her and
him. She wanted that moment to freeze and let her steal him away from the every
expectation that people have. She wanted to hold him, cry resting on her chest
listening to his heartbeats. The feathery touch of his lips made her weak. “Stop this please” her parted lips
gasped. The cruel oven messed the sensational heat that grew between them. The
loud beep that notified the process to have completed push them apart. Getting
back into her normal senses she pleated her dupatta
properly and concentrated on the éclairs that she was preparing.
“Promise me you will not run away from me today.” Ram said to her.
“Mr. Kapoor we can discuss this later. Please.” She pleaded applying
chocolate spread over the fresh baked bread base of éclairs.
“Okay Mrs. Kapoor as you wish; but don't complain that I have not
asked you earlier.” Ram smirked.
Blushing red she closed her eyes tight. Anticipation of closeness he
was indicating made her smile faintly.
“Advik is coming for a session with Pihu.” Ram informed her from the
kitchen entrance, “Let me check with Pihu once. Come fast with her Éclair.”
Saying, he left.
When Priya entered Pihu’s room with the chocolate éclairs she found
her sitting on her chair and laughing at her father who was trying his hands on
clay for the first time.
“Leave it Mr. Kapoor, art is not your cup of tea.” Priya teased him
placing the tray on Pihu’s study table. “It suits on our daughter only. App toh business and deals leke hi kush rahiye.” To her surprise
Pihu responded.
“Correct Mom. Papa this is not your kind of thing. Now let me have
my éclair.” Pihu walked to the washroom and came out in few seconds washing her
hands, spoiled by the clay she was working with.
“Really you two think so.” Retorted Ram as Pihu was about to put a
bite in the éclair. “Ask your mom who helped her in making this?” pointing to
the piece of food he said with a constant smile.
“App hi bata do.” Pihu
giggled.
“Bata du Priya.” With a
tease in his eyes he looked at her.
“Yes. Go ahead.” Priya was well aware of Ram’s confidence. But to
safe guard her interest she added, “Yes what a help you did confer to me by
switching off the oven and trying to grab a bite before Pihu.”
“That’s not fair pappa.”
Pihu said, “I asked mom to make it.”
“Sorry to disturb you.” Advik entered Pihu’s room. “Pihu can we have
some proper discussion?” Putting half eaten éclair she nodded yes and stood up.
~~
Ram and Priya sat outside when Advik took Pihu inside. “Mr. Kapoor I
am really worried now. Do we need to do all this now? Pihu is behaving normal.”
Asked Priya with worry.
“We have to do this Priya.” Pressing his hands against hers firmly
he said. “Advik is best in his field. We have to trust him.” He smiled trying
to affirm her.
~~
“Did you have fun today?” asked Advik drawing the curtains to make
the place warm.
“Yes. But what you are going to do?” asked Pihu.
“We will talk.” With a smile he sat by her.
“Can I have Mom Dad Here?” she asked curling to the recliner she
said.
“Okay.” Advik requested her parents to come inside and pointing to
the couch at the farthest corner of the room he asked them to sit there.
Obeying, the couple took their seat.
“Now tell me Pihu about your day. How was your day?” Advik asked. “Everything
in details.” He instructs.
“If you have asked me about it tomorrow I would have answered it as
the best day of my life.” She smiled. “But I have still few hours left to
spend.”
“Okay. Till now?”
“I had a great start to the day after taking your advice seriously.
I seen some beautiful things that I never saw before. I saw a violinist playing
some soul stirring tune at the metro station. But no one had time.” Pihu said.
“But you had?”
“Not really, but I managed at the expense of getting kicked out of
the first class. But I managed to balance both.” Said Pihu under her laugh.
“Are you going to do the same tomorrow too?” asked Advik
“ Yes definitely.”
“Is that the only thing that made your day beautiful?” asked Advik.
“When did I say that it made my day beautiful? It was just a part
that happened. Papa made my day beautiful.” She smiled. “When I got to know
that I am not a responsibility for my parents but love.”
“Is there any change about what you felt for your mother?” Advik
watched her keenly.
“I don't know but I want my old mom back.” Said Pihu aimlessly with
her eyes pointed to the roof. Priya sighed before she stood to leave. Gripping
her hand Ram pulled her back. Arms wrapped around her, he made sure Priya don't
get a chance to flee.
“I want to share everything with her just like I used to do as a kid
but then I think if she over reacts.” Said Pihu under her deep sigh. “I am
afraid if she fails to understand my feelings and react to it. I don't know if
I can ever feel that love to express or not.” Pihu disheartened Priya.
“We can chalk that out with time.” Advik said. “Can you feel the help
you need? Do you feel that you are not okay?” When there came no reply he
repeated his question again.
“Yes.”
“Good. So, what ever I will say now you have to abide by it.” Advik
looked serious, “You have to take some medicines. We will have sessions
together. We will discuss about the changes you feel about yourself and your parents
and many more. Most importantly don't ever suppress any desire or emotion
inside you. If you don't like it say it at face. If you are wrong you will be
corrected if the other person is wrong he or she will be corrected. Because
what so ever happens neither we have super powers to read mind nor we have any
technology to do so. There is no problem that has no solutions. If we discuss
we will find a solution to it.” He smiled to her. “Now I will take my leave
potato wedges I have few more appointments and then I will be driving to Sydney
for the weekend. So, I will be meeting you on Monday next and I have arranged
some interesting ride for you, wait till Monday.”
~~
That night after dinner while Ram was in the study on an important
business call from India. Priya kept herself locked inside the bedroom. After a
long time all of them had dinner as a family. Apeksha was also pretty surprised
to find such changes in Pihu but she was yet to open up with Priya like she
used to be. Before coming to her bedroom she wished Pihu good night and left
some dry fruits for her, she knew Pihu will be working late to give a shape to
brain child that night. Though she replied back to her mother the warmth was
missing.
Lost in her thoughts and eyes gazing to the endless horizon of her
lost glory she kept on combing her perfectly combed and beautiful hairs, that
flow to her shoulders. Unaware of Ram being there, she continued with her lost
actions. Ram bolted the door and stood behind her. Knowing that his wife is
submerged in endless thought he decided to tease her more. He bend down and
came closer to her, grinning naughtily he blew air into her ears. Shivering out
from her thoughts she found her husband smiling behind.
“Mr. Kapoor!!” she scolded him. Collecting the hair brush that fell
on the ground she stood up to leave. Before she could react to the pull that
she felt, she landed safely on Ram’s broad chest, with his hands secured around
her. “Please Mr. Kapoor leave me.” She tried not to look at him.
“Look at me Priya.” In his husky voice Ram ordered. With the anticipation
of the closeness she shut her eyes tight. Tucking her hair to the side of her
shoulder he came little closer shifting his hands from her back to waist. He
smiled as she tried to free herself. “You promised me something this evening.”
He said keeping his gaze fixed at her eyes. “Look at me.” He again ordered.
This time she failed to disobey. Her eyes meet his intense gaze. Ram’s
gaze shifted from her eyes to her parted lips. Feeling the same, she looked
down as she smiled biting her lower lips.
“You look so beautiful when you do this.” Ram said lowering his head
pulling her more towards himself. She responded back. The satin failed to protect
her from the torment of her husband's playful fingers. Ram took the advantage
and dug his hands over her waist and with a sudden pull he merged the gap
between them. He has a full view and access to his wife then. Blushing red
Priya stood defeated, she knew where they are heading to. Before anything she
rested her head near Ram’s heart. Closing her eyes she held him along his waist.
Comforting her Ram shifts his one hand to her head. She smiled. Staying at that
position for a long time Ram came apart.
His hands now cupped her face within. They knew none of them wanted
this moment to end, both of them wanted this closeness since months. They
needed each other. Lowering his face he stopped himself just a hair line away
from her lips. The sensual tension built up between them was really hard to
hold back. His warm soothing breathes over her lips send several chills down
her spine. While he loved the torments, which was just a deliberate act to make
her weak more, Priya has already lost the emotional battle. Ram grinned as he
could feel the pull in his kurta.
That was the right moment he was waiting for, when Priya will be desperately
want him.
Making that easy for her, he took her parted lips in his mastery act.
Though the act may not be such passionate he kept his grip strong and pulled
her closed until she started giving him a full access to him. Leaving her lips,
he shifted himself on her bare shoulders. His feathery touch made her gasp.
Grabbing the piece of fabric from his kurta
she tried to tell him how much she needs him that moment. There was no stopping.
When they ended on the bed, was not known neither they were
interested to know. Ram now reached the satin rob that she wore over her night
dress. Untying it when he was just about to take it off from her, there was a
sudden knock at the door, which interrupted and took them back to the world
where they belong to. Ram sat up with his hands clasped against his eyes. None
of them was in a state to answer, but they had to when there were more knocks
and from outside came Pihu’s voice.
“Pihu.” Priya sat up tying her rob around and arranging her messed
up hair in a bun she climbed down from the bed. Ram also followed. Hurrying
Priya opened the door. “Pihu is everything okay?” she asked worried.
“Yes mamma. I just..” she looked at her parents. “I just came to ask
if I can sleep with you?”
Ram and Priya knew what they were in middle off; but they can't turn
down Pihu. “Yes of course baby.” Priya smiled and took her inside.
“I am just.... coming.” Ram excused himself. After almost 10 minutes
when he came back, he found Pihu lying there hugging Priya. He smiled and
slipped inside the duvet. Priya smiled and gestured him not to speak as it may
disturb Pihu. None of her parents slept
till Pihu started snoring.
“Priya, her husband is going to have a tough time.” Ram smiled,
stroking Pihu’s head caringly.
“He will adjust like me.” She smiled.
“Let me shift her this side.” Ram stood up. He carefully took off the
duvet and asked Priya to shift.
“You will wake her up.” Scolded Priya, “Let her be like this only.”
“madam. If she needs her
mother, her father also needs her mother. At least I can have the privilege to
cuddle with you after all that foreplay and thanks to pihu she landed at the
right time; else we could have pushed her to the same thought of not loving
when actually we would have been helpless to respond.” Ram whispered to
Priya making her blush. He carefully shifted Pihu to his side and covered her
with the duvet again. Coming to Priya’s side he slipped under the cover. Gesturing
Priya to move her head up, he slipped his left arm under her head. He held her
close as she rested her head on his arm. “I need a bonus for what I missed
today.”
“You are sounding too much romantic than needed.” Teased Priya.
“Yes. Which duffer will not!” he proudly accepted her tease. “with such beautiful and sexy wife I would happily
remain romantic for rest of my life.” Whispering he dug his head by the side
of her head. He entwined his left hand with hers and kept his right hand on
Pihu’s shoulder. Patting her softly he asked Priya to
sleep planting a kiss on her head in between her hair.
After a long time Priya was again grilled between the snoring of two
Kapoors. She smiled looking at both the sleeping teddy bears, and with a deep
sigh of relief she closed her eyes inviting the sleep to conquer.
